Dubois [Paris], extra large 4-column Empire style portico clock with day and month subsidiary dials, and with an aperture below six for the date, bell striking 15 day movement, numbered 435, the case of ebony veneers and ebonized wood, accented with heavy ormolu capitals and moldings, C.1860
CONDITION:
the calendar is simple in operation and does not correct for short months; date is adjusted manually via a knurled knob behind 6. The engine turned dial plate and chapter ring have been re-silvered and numerals day/month names re-applied [professional job]. Movement will tick and strike, however oil has congealed and it will need cleaning /adjusting. 9 rod compensating pendulum of alternating brass and steel rods is in good condition, suspended via hook and suspension spring. Minor edge abrasions and small rear chips to wood. Ormolu trims polished to brass. Overall very good condition. Ht 28 1/2"
